Keith Lees has been committed to stand trial for the alleged murder of Meaghan Louise Rose, a 25-year-old health worker, on the Sunshine Coast in 1997. The decision was made by a magistrate on April 30, 2026, following a committal hearing.
Lees was Ms. Rose's partner at the time of her death. Her body was found at the bottom of a cliff near Point Cartwright, and the case has remained unsolved for nearly three decades. The alleged murder occurred on January 1, 1997.
The committal hearing heard evidence from witnesses and forensic experts. The case will now proceed to the Supreme Court for trial. No date has been set for the trial.
