Community leaders at Mururani village in the Mankumpi constituency of the Kavango West region have called for a fully-fledged health centre, saying an abandoned container serving as a mobile clinic has left residents stranded without healthcare.
The call was made during a meeting with regional officials on 2026-07-15, according to local reports. Leaders highlighted that the container, previously used as a mobile clinic, has been non-functional for several months, forcing residents to travel long distances for medical attention.
Kavango West Governor Sirkka Ausiku acknowledged the concerns and stated that the regional council is working with the Ministry of Health to address the issue. No timeline for a new facility has been announced.
