Kaizer Chiefs have parted ways with co-coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze, the club announced on May 27, 2026. The decision comes just days after Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. praised the duo for their work in guiding the team to a third-place finish in the 2025-26 DStv Premiership season and qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.
The club stated that the departure was mutual, with both coaches leaving with immediate effect. No further details were provided regarding the reasons for the split, though speculation has linked the move to a desire for a new direction ahead of the next campaign.
Ben Youssef and Kaze were appointed as co-coaches in July 2024, replacing Molefi Ntseki. Under their leadership, Chiefs improved from a 10th-place finish in 2023-24 to third in 2025-26, securing continental football for the first time since 2021.
Kaizer Chiefs have not yet announced a replacement, but the club is expected to begin the search for a new head coach immediately.
