Emmy-winning producer John Wells, known for his work on 'The Pitt' and 'ER', has signed a new three-year overall deal extension with Warner Bros. Television, according to a company announcement on July 27, 2026.
The deal, which extends Wells' long-standing relationship with the studio, was confirmed by Warner Bros. Television Group Chairman Channing Dungey. Wells' previous overall deal with the studio was set to expire later this year.
Wells, a former president of the Writers Guild of America West, has been a prolific producer for Warner Bros. Television, overseeing series such as 'Shameless' and 'Animal Kingdom'. His current series 'The Pitt', a medical drama, has been renewed for a second season.
