Irish actress and singer Jessie Buckley has joined the cast of two major upcoming film projects. She will star in Maggie Gyllenhaal's gothic horror reimagining of 'Frankenstein' titled 'The Bride!', which is scheduled to begin filming in March 2024. Buckley will play the titular Bride opposite Christian Bale's Frankenstein.
Separately, Buckley is attached to star in a film adaptation of Maggie O'Farrell's award-winning novel 'Hamnet'. The project, which explores the story of William Shakespeare's family, is being developed by Amblin Partners and Chloé Zhao is set to direct. Buckley is expected to play the role of Agnes (Anne) Hathaway, Shakespeare's wife.
Buckley, known for her roles in 'The Lost Daughter' and 'Men', continues to build a diverse filmography. Her involvement in these two literary-inspired projects highlights her status as a sought-after dramatic actress in the industry.
