The second session of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 commenced today, April 2, 2026. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the exam for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) across various centers in India and abroad. This session will run until April 12, 2026.

Candidates must carry their JEE Main 2026 admit card and a valid photo ID to the examination center. The NTA has reiterated strict protocols against prohibited items, including electronic devices and study materials. Exam timings and reporting details are specified on individual admit cards.

The JEE Main is a gateway for admission to undergraduate engineering programs at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutions, and many state and private universities. It also serves as the qualifying exam for the JEE Advanced, which is required for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Results for JEE Main Session 2 are expected to be declared by the end of April 2026. The NTA will use the best of the two session scores to prepare the ranks for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counseling process.
