Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has made a final decision regarding Liverpool cult-hero Divock Origi, confirming that the striker will not be returning to the club. The speculation had linked Origi, who is currently a free agent after leaving AC Milan, with a potential move to the Cherries.
Iraola stated in a press conference on June 20, 2026, that while Origi is a 'fantastic player,' the club's current squad depth and tactical plans do not include him. 'We have our forwards, and we are happy with them,' Iraola said, as reported by local media.
Origi, 31, is best known for his crucial goals for Liverpool, including in the 2019 Champions League final. He has been without a club since his contract with AC Milan expired in June 2025. Bournemouth had been mentioned as a possible destination, but Iraola's comments have ended that speculation.
