An Iranian-linked hacking group known as 'For Humanity' claimed on Friday, March 27, 2026, to have compromised the personal email account of US Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Kash Patel. The group published what it alleges are personal photos and documents from the account on a public forum.

The FBI confirmed it is aware of the incident. In a statement, the Bureau said, "We are aware of the claims regarding Director Patel's personal email. The FBI takes all cyber threats seriously and is investigating the matter." The statement did not confirm the specific details of the alleged breach.

The hacker group posted screenshots purportedly showing access to the email account, along with personal photographs and a list of contacts. Cybersecurity analysts are assessing the authenticity of the leaked material. The incident highlights ongoing cyber espionage tensions between the US and Iran.

Director Kash Patel was appointed to lead the FBI in 2025. There is no current indication from US officials that any classified government systems were compromised in this alleged incident targeting a personal account.
