Insta360, a Chinese camera maker known for its 360-degree cameras, has filed patent infringement lawsuits against drone giant DJI in the United States and China, according to a report from Law360 on June 12, 2026.
The lawsuits allege that DJI's products, including its Osmo Action series, infringe on Insta360's patents related to image stabilization and panoramic video technology. Insta360 is seeking injunctions and damages.
This legal action marks an escalation in the rivalry between the two Shenzhen-based companies, which compete in the action camera and drone markets. Insta360 has previously accused DJI of copying its designs.
As of June 13, 2026, DJI has not publicly commented on the lawsuits. The cases are pending in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the Beijing Intellectual Property Court.
