FIFA President Gianni Infantino said on Thursday that the 2030 World Cup will be "obviously the most beautiful in history" during a visit to M'diq, a coastal city in northern Morocco. His comments came as part of preparations for the tournament, which will be co-hosted by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal.
Infantino was in Morocco to inspect facilities and discuss the organization of the event, which will mark the centenary of the World Cup. The 2030 tournament will be the first to be held across three countries and two continents, with matches also planned in Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay to celebrate the 100th anniversary.
"We are working hard to ensure that this World Cup will be an unforgettable event," Infantino said, according to reports from Moroccan media. He praised the progress of infrastructure projects in Morocco, which is also preparing to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025 and has bid for the 2028 Olympics.
The 2030 World Cup is scheduled to take place from June to July 2030, with the final to be held at the Santiago BernabΓ©u Stadium in Madrid. Morocco will host matches in several cities, including Casablanca, Rabat, and Tangier.
