The Indian Army has selected the Meprolight MEPRO X6 as the new daytime optic for its Negev light machine guns (LMGs), according to a statement from the Israeli defense company. The MEPRO X6 is a compact, lightweight 6x magnification telescopic sight designed for long-range accuracy.
Verified reports indicate the sight offers a range of up to 1,000 meters and is built to withstand harsh battlefield conditions. The selection follows trials to enhance the effectiveness of the Negev LMG, which is used by Indian infantry units.
Meprolight, a subsidiary of the SK Group, confirmed the deal but did not disclose the financial terms or the number of units ordered. The Indian Army has been modernizing its small arms optics as part of broader defense upgrades.
