The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a series of strikes against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon on Monday, March 31, 2026. The military stated the operation targeted terrorist infrastructure and launch sites used by the Iran-backed militant group.
According to an IDF statement, fighter jets struck a Hezbollah military compound in the area of Kafr Kila. Additional strikes targeted other sites in southern Lebanon. The military said the strikes were in response to launches from Lebanon into northern Israel earlier in the day.
Hezbollah's media office reported Israeli airstrikes on the outskirts of several towns. The group has not commented on any casualties. The Lebanese state news agency reported that Israeli strikes caused material damage in the targeted areas.
The cross-border hostilities are part of ongoing, near-daily exchanges of fire between the IDF and Hezbollah since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict in October 2023. The situation has raised fears of a broader regional escalation.
