The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of New South Wales has confirmed that its inquiry into the City of Parramatta Council will continue. The investigation, which began in 2025, focuses on allegations of misconduct related to property development and planning decisions.
ICAC has scheduled further public hearings for August 2026, according to the commission's website. The inquiry is examining whether council officials and developers engaged in corrupt conduct involving the rezoning of land and approval of development applications.
Several current and former council staff members, as well as property developers, have been summoned to give evidence. The commission has not yet released a timeline for the conclusion of the investigation.
Parramatta Council has stated it is cooperating fully with ICAC and has implemented new governance measures to address the issues raised.
