Yemen's Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for a missile attack targeting Israel on Friday, March 28, 2026. The Iran-aligned group stated it launched ballistic missiles in what it described as a second operation in support of Palestinians in Gaza, following an initial attack claimed earlier in the week.

The Israeli military confirmed the interception of a "launch" that crossed from the Red Sea area into Israeli airspace near the southern city of Eilat. Air raid sirens sounded in the area, but no injuries or damage were reported. The Houthi military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, stated the group would continue its operations "until the aggression stops and the siege on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is lifted."

The attacks are part of a series of regional tensions linked to the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The Houthis have previously targeted shipping in the Red Sea, framing their actions as pressure on Israel and its allies. The United States and its partners have conducted operations to counter these threats to maritime security.
