A comprehensive meeting of the District AIDS Council was held at the CEO Health Conference Room in Muzaffargarh to strengthen preventive measures, diagnosis, and treatment facilities related to HIV/AIDS. The meeting was organized by New Life Organization with the support of the District Health Authority.
Speaking on the occasion, Akram Tukleer, a representative of New Life Organization, emphasized that awareness and counseling are essential to effectively control HIV/AIDS. He highlighted the need for community engagement and regular testing to reduce the spread of the virus.
District Health Officer Dr. Muhammad Aslam also addressed the meeting, stressing the importance of early diagnosis and access to antiretroviral therapy. He noted that stigma remains a major barrier to treatment and urged healthcare workers to provide compassionate care.
The meeting was attended by representatives from various health departments, NGOs, and community leaders. They discussed strategies to improve outreach programs and ensure that people living with HIV/AIDS receive adequate support.
