A rocket fired by the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah struck the northern Israeli city of Nahariya on Thursday, March 26, 2026, killing one person and injuring 25 others, according to Israeli emergency services and official statements.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the attack was part of a wider barrage of rocket fire launched from Lebanon into northern Israel. Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel's national emergency medical service, reported that the fatality was a man in his 30s who suffered a direct hit. Of the 25 injured, several were listed in serious condition.

In response, the IDF stated it conducted airstrikes on Hezbollah military infrastructure in southern Lebanon. The exchange of fire marks a significant escalation in ongoing cross-border hostilities between the two sides.

The attack caused significant damage to buildings and vehicles in the area. Israeli authorities have instructed residents in northern communities to remain near fortified shelters.
