Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah warned on Sunday that Israel's military actions in Lebanon risk a wider regional escalation. His televised address followed a series of Israeli airstrikes deep inside Lebanese territory, which he described as a dangerous development.

The Israeli military stated the strikes targeted Hezbollah infrastructure and operatives in response to attacks from Lebanese territory. Cross-border exchanges of fire have been a near-daily occurrence since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza in October 2023.

Nasrallah asserted that Hezbollah possesses the capability to strike anywhere in Israel and vowed to continue its operations in support of Gaza. He dismissed Israeli threats of a major ground offensive into Lebanon, stating the group was prepared for any scenario.

International mediators, including the United States, have been working to prevent the conflict from spiraling into a full-scale war. The UN has repeatedly called for restraint and a return to the cessation of hostilities agreement under Security Council Resolution 1701.
