The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) has confirmed that national team manager Hervé Renard will leave his position after the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The announcement was made by SAFF President Yasser Al-Misehal on March 31, 2026.
Renard, who took charge in July 2023, led the team to qualification for the 2026 tournament. His contract was set to run until 2027, but both parties have agreed on this conclusion following the World Cup. Al-Misehal stated the decision was made after extensive discussions about the future direction of the national team.
The French coach is widely credited with improving the team's performance and securing their World Cup berth. No successor has been named, and the federation indicated a search will begin after the tournament. Renard's final matches in charge will be Saudi Arabia's group stage games at the 2026 World Cup.
