Morocco's General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an orange-level vigilance alert for Friday and Saturday, April 24-25, 2026, warning of locally strong thunderstorm showers and a risk of hail in several provinces.
According to the DGM, precipitation amounts are expected to range between 20 and 30 mm. The alert covers areas including but not limited to the provinces of Al Haouz, Azilal, Beni Mellal, and others in the Atlas region.
Residents are advised to exercise caution, especially in low-lying areas prone to flash flooding. The DGM recommends avoiding riverbeds and staying updated on weather bulletins.
This weather event is typical for the season, as spring often brings unstable conditions to the region. No casualties or major damage have been reported as of the latest update.
