Morocco's General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued a heatwave alert for several provinces from Sunday, August 3, to Tuesday, August 5, 2026. The alert covers provinces including Ouarzazate, Errachidia, and Tata, where maximum temperatures are expected to reach 46°C.
According to the DGM, the heatwave will affect the provinces of Zagora, Tinghir, and Figuig, with temperatures ranging between 42°C and 46°C. The alert is classified as an orange level warning, indicating a significant risk to health and daily activities.
The DGM advises residents and travelers in these areas to take precautions, such as staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and checking on vulnerable individuals like the elderly and children.
