The Atlanta Hawks have traded forward Zaccharie Risacher, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, to the Dallas Mavericks, according to league sources. The deal ends Risacher's two-year tenure with the Hawks, during which he appeared in 142 regular-season games.
Risacher, who was selected first overall by the Hawks in the 2024 draft, averaged 11.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game over his two seasons in Atlanta. The 21-year-old French forward showed flashes of potential but struggled with consistency, shooting 42.1% from the field and 32.4% from three-point range.
The Hawks received a package including a future first-round pick and salary filler in exchange for Risacher, sources said. The move comes as Atlanta looks to reshape its roster around star guard Trae Young and build for long-term success.
Risacher joins a Dallas team that reached the NBA Finals in 2024 and is looking to add young talent to complement stars Luka DonΔiΔ and Kyrie Irving. The Mavericks view Risacher as a versatile wing who can develop into a reliable two-way player.
Neither team has officially commented on the trade, which is expected to be finalized pending league approval.
