Lewis Hamilton has indicated he will scale back his use of Ferrari's F1 simulator after the Miami Grand Prix, where he felt the tool provided misleading setup directions. The seven-time world champion, who joined Ferrari for the 2025 season, has historically been sparing in his simulator usage across his 20-year F1 career.
Speaking after the Miami race, Hamilton said: 'I think I need to be careful with the simulator. It gave me a direction that didn't translate to the track.' He added that he might 'back away' from relying on it heavily for future race weekends.
Hamilton finished sixth in Miami, while teammate Charles Leclerc took third. The Briton has struggled to match Leclerc's pace in qualifying and races so far in 2026, with the simulator discrepancy cited as one factor.
Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur acknowledged the issue, stating: 'We are working to improve correlation between the simulator and real-world performance. Lewis's feedback is valuable.'
