The Guinean Football Federation (FEGUIFOOT) has officially denied initiating any legal proceedings with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) or the Confederation of African Football (CAF) concerning the final of the 1976 Africa Cup of Nations. This statement addresses recent rumors and clarifies the federation's position on the historical match.

The 1976 AFCON final, held in Ethiopia, ended in a controversial 1-1 draw between Guinea and Morocco. With no penalty shootout rule in place at the time, Morocco was declared the winner by virtue of having topped the final round-robin group. This outcome has been a point of contention for decades among Guinean football supporters.

In its communication, FEGUIFOOT emphasized that while the match remains a significant part of the country's sporting history, the federation is not pursuing any formal claims or appeals to overturn the result. The focus is instead on current and future football development.

The clarification from FEGUIFOOT aims to put an end to speculation and misinformation circulating online and in some media outlets regarding potential legal challenges to the 50-year-old tournament result.
