The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds staved off elimination in the Ontario Hockey League playoffs with a dramatic 5-2 comeback victory over the London Knights on Thursday night. Trailing the Western Conference semifinal series 3-0, the Greyhounds were down 2-1 entering the third period before erupting for four unanswered goals at the GFL Memorial Gardens.
Rookie forward Landon Miller was instrumental in the victory, scoring the game-tying goal and adding an assist. The Knights, who had won the first three games of the series, were unable to contain the Greyhounds' surge in the final frame. Goaltender Charlie Schenkel made 29 saves for Sault Ste. Marie to secure the win.
The victory forces a Game 5 in the best-of-seven series, which will be played in London on Saturday night. The Greyhounds now aim to win on the road and bring the series back to Sault Ste. Marie for a potential Game 6 on Sunday.
