General Motors (GM) has announced a $1 billion investment to assemble the Chevrolet Groove and Aveo models at its plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, according to a company press release dated May 22, 2026. The investment aims to boost local production and meet demand in North American markets.
The Ramos Arizpe facility will produce both models starting in 2027, with the Groove targeting the compact SUV segment and the Aveo focusing on the subcompact car market. GM stated the investment will create approximately 2,500 direct jobs and support local suppliers.
