French rapper and singer Gims, whose real name is Gandhi Djuna, was released from police custody on Friday, March 28, 2026, and is to be presented to an investigating judge. The judicial source confirmed the development relates to a preliminary investigation into alleged money laundering.

The artist was taken into custody on Wednesday, March 26, as part of this probe. The investigation is being handled by the Central Office for the Fight against Corruption and Financial and Tax Offences (OCLCIFF).

The investigating judge will now decide whether to formally place Gims under judicial examination, a step akin to being charged. His legal team has not yet issued a public statement regarding the allegations.

The case adds to a series of legal challenges for the musician, who was previously handed a suspended fine in 2023 for concealed work related to a 2016 concert.
