PHOENIX -- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 42 points, leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 114-108 victory over the Phoenix Suns in Game 3 of their first-round playoff series on Saturday night. The Thunder now hold a 3-0 series lead, putting them on the verge of a sweep.
With just over seven minutes remaining in the game, Gilgeous-Alexander split two Suns defenders in transition and finished through contact, drawing a foul and a timeout from Phoenix. He shot 14-of-22 from the field and 12-of-14 from the free-throw line, adding 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
Jalen Williams contributed 20 points and 7 rebounds for the Thunder, while Chet Holmgren added 16 points and 8 rebounds. Devin Booker led the Suns with 28 points and 6 assists, and Kevin Durant scored 25 points in the losing effort.
The Thunder can complete the sweep with a win in Game 4 on Monday in Phoenix. No NBA team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit to win a playoff series.
