The Insurance Brokers Association of Ghana (IBAG) will hold its 2026 Annual Conference and Excellence Awards from March 26 to 29 at the Rock City Hotel in Kwahu, Eastern Region. The theme for this year's gathering is "The Insurance Broker: Surviving the Current Economic and Regulatory Challenges."

According to IBAG President Shaibu Ali, the conference aims to address critical issues facing the industry, including a persistent trust deficit with the public, low insurance penetration, and adapting to new regulatory frameworks. The event will bring together brokers, regulators, insurers, and other stakeholders for discussions and workshops.

The conference comes amid broader challenges within Ghana's insurance sector. Industry reports and statements from the National Insurance Commission highlight ongoing efforts to boost public confidence and increase the country's low insurance uptake, which remains below 2% of GDP.

Key objectives for the brokers include exploring strategies to enhance professionalism, improve customer service, and navigate the evolving economic landscape. The association views the conference as a pivotal platform for shaping the industry's response to these pressures in the coming year.
