Carlos Queiroz brings extensive international experience to the role, having previously managed the national teams of Portugal, Iran, Egypt, and Qatar. His club career includes assistant roles at Manchester United and head coaching positions at Real Madrid and Sporting CP, among others. He most recently coached the Qatar national team until 2025.
The appointment comes as Ghana seeks to rebuild after a disappointing group-stage exit at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Queiroz's immediate challenge will be to secure positive results in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
