Defensive end T.J. Searcy, a former four-star recruit, has transferred from the University of Georgia to the University of Florida. He announced his commitment to the Florida Gators in December 2024 and enrolled for the 2025 college football season.

Searcy, who stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 250 pounds, played his freshman season at Georgia in 2023. During that season, he appeared in 12 games, recording 10 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and a sack. He was considered a key depth piece on the Bulldogs' defensive line.

His transfer to Florida was part of a major roster overhaul under head coach Billy Napier. Analysts noted that Searcy's size and athleticism were expected to bolster the Gators' pass rush. He joined a defensive unit looking to improve after a challenging 2024 season.

As of March 2026, Searcy is preparing for his second season with the Gators. Coaches have cited his work ethic and physical development as positive signs for his potential impact on the field in the upcoming campaign.
