Md. Shahjahan, known by the alias 'Pichchi Raja', a listed drug dealer from Geneva Camp in Dhaka, was arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on May 19, 2026. The arrest was made by a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police as he attempted to flee the country.
According to police officials, Shahjahan was wanted in multiple drug-related cases and had been evading arrest for several months. He was apprehended at the airport's departure lounge while trying to board a flight to an undisclosed destination.
Geneva Camp, located in the Mohammadpur area of Dhaka, has been a known hub for drug trafficking, and 'Pichchi Raja' was one of the most notorious dealers in the area. His arrest is seen as a significant step in the ongoing crackdown on drug networks in the capital.
DB police have stated that further investigations are underway to uncover his network and associates. Shahjahan has been handed over to the local police station for legal proceedings.
