Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has confirmed he will remain in charge of the Serie A club for the 2026-27 season, dismissing recent speculation linking him with the managerial vacancy at AS Roma. The 68-year-old made the announcement in a press conference ahead of Atalanta's league match.

"My future is here," Gasperini stated, as reported by multiple Italian sports media outlets. "I have a contract with Atalanta, and I am very happy here. The club and I are already planning for next season." His current deal with Atalanta is understood to run until June 2027.

The rumors emerged following the confirmed departure of Roma's previous coach, Daniele De Rossi, whose contract was not renewed after the 2025-26 campaign. Despite Gasperini's successful tenure at Atalanta, which includes a historic UEFA Europa League win in 2024, he has opted for continuity in Bergamo.

With Gasperini out of the running, AS Roma continues its search for a new head coach. The club's sporting director is reportedly evaluating several candidates to lead the team ahead of the new season.
