Gamescom 2026, the world's largest video game trade fair, is set to open its doors in Cologne, Germany, from August 19 to 23. Organizers have announced record-breaking numbers ahead of the event, with over 1,600 exhibitors from more than 60 countries, surpassing previous editions.
The fair will occupy an expanded exhibition space of 230,000 square meters, a new record for the event. Organizers expect more than 320,000 visitors, also a record, reflecting the continued growth of the gaming industry in Europe.
Highlights include major showcases from companies like Ubisoft, EA, and Capcom, as well as the return of the popular 'Gamescom Opening Night Live' show, hosted by Geoff Keighley. The event will also feature a dedicated indie area and a new esports arena.
According to the German Trade Fair Industry Association (AUMA), Gamescom remains the leading global platform for interactive entertainment, with a significant increase in international participation this year.
