The French Institute of Morocco (Institut français du Maroc) and the Cité internationale des arts in Paris have launched a new excellence residency program for Moroccan artists. The initiative, announced in early 2026, aims to support established artists by providing them with a creative workspace in the heart of Paris for several months.
The program is designed to foster artistic creation and international exchange. Selected artists will benefit from a studio-apartment at the Cité internationale des arts, a renowned institution that has hosted over 25,000 artists from more than 150 countries since its founding in 1965.
This partnership strengthens the cultural cooperation between France and Morocco. It follows a series of existing residency programs managed by the French Institute network and represents a dedicated effort to spotlight high-level Moroccan artistic talent on an international stage.
The call for applications for the first cohort was opened in the first quarter of 2026. The selection process is managed by the French Institute of Morocco in collaboration with its partners, focusing on artists with a significant professional trajectory.
