The trial of François Thierry, the former head of France's Interministerial Mission for the Fight Against Drugs and Addictive Behaviors (MILDT), concluded in Bordeaux with prosecutors requesting his acquittal. Thierry faced charges of corruption and favoritism related to consultancy contracts awarded after he left public service.

According to reports from French media including Le Monde, the prosecution argued that the evidence did not sufficiently establish the charges of passive corruption and favoritism against him. The case centered on contracts worth 176,000 euros awarded by the Addictions Prevention Fund to a consulting firm that employed Thierry.

The court's deliberation is ongoing, and a verdict is expected at a later date. The trial has drawn attention to the post-public service activities of high-ranking French officials and the regulations governing them.
