Four teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old boy in Peterborough. Cambridgeshire Police were called to Riseholme, near the Ortongate Shopping Centre, at approximately 18:50 BST on Sunday, 12 April 2026.
The victim, who has not yet been formally identified, was taken to Peterborough City Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place. The arrested individuals, three aged 17 and one aged 16, remain in police custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris O'Brien of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit stated that a dedicated team is working on the investigation. He urged anyone with information, including dashcam or mobile phone footage, to come forward.
A significant police cordon remains in place in the Riseholme area as forensic examinations continue. Local residents have described their shock at the incident in what is typically a quiet neighbourhood.
