Former Nigeria international striker Michael Eneramo died on April 24, 2026, after collapsing during a football match in Nigeria. He was 40 years old.
Eneramo, who played for clubs including Espérance de Tunis and Al Ahly, was participating in a local game when he suddenly fell to the ground. Medical personnel attempted to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
The Nigeria Football Federation expressed condolences, calling Eneramo a 'dedicated servant of Nigerian football.' His former clubs also paid tribute, remembering his contributions on and off the pitch.
An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death. Eneramo is survived by his wife and three children.
