Félix Bingui, also known as 'Le Chat' or 'Féfé', has been extradited from Morocco to France to face charges of drug trafficking. French Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin described him as 'one of the biggest drug traffickers in our country' when Moroccan authorities initiated the extradition process.
Bingui, originally from the Gard region, reportedly started his criminal career as a scooter thief before rising to lead the Yoda clan, a powerful drug trafficking network based in Marseille. The clan has been linked to violent turf wars in the city, including a deadly shooting at a shopping center in 2023.
According to French authorities, Bingui was arrested in Morocco in March 2024 after months on the run. His extradition marks a significant step in the fight against drug trafficking in France, where the Yoda clan has been a major player in the narcotics trade.
