The Kings, who had already clinched a playoff berth in the Western Conference, received their lone goal from Kevin Fiala. Goaltender David Rittich stopped 23 shots. Los Angeles ended the regular season with a 44-31-7 record and will face the Edmonton Oilers in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The game marked the final NHL contest for Flames forward Mikael Backlund, who announced his retirement after 17 seasons, all with Calgary.
