The Ministry of Health has launched the first national survey on the prevalence of HIV and hepatitis B among pregnant women. The initiative aims to collect updated data to improve maternal and child health policies.
According to preliminary data, the HIV positivity rate among pregnant women attending antenatal care is 0.1% in 2025. The survey will also assess hepatitis B prevalence, though specific figures have not yet been released.
The survey covers all regions and is expected to provide a comprehensive picture of the epidemiological situation. Results will guide prevention and treatment programs for pregnant women and their newborns.
