SEOUL, June 9 (Yonhap) -- An exhibition titled 'Still Life in the Age of AI' opened in Seoul on June 9, 2026, showcasing human-crafted still life photography as a counterpoint to the growing prevalence of AI-generated images. The exhibition, curated by the Seoul Museum of Art, features works by 12 photographers who emphasize traditional techniques and human creativity.
The exhibition aims to highlight the unique value of human artistry in photography, particularly in the still life genre, which often requires meticulous arrangement and lighting. 'In an era where AI can generate images instantly, we want to remind people of the deliberate process and emotional depth behind human-made photographs,' said curator Park Ji-hyun in a statement.
Visitors can view works that explore themes of impermanence, beauty, and the tactile nature of objects, using film and digital cameras without AI assistance. The exhibition runs until September 30, 2026, and includes workshops on traditional photography techniques.
