Two months after his dismissal from Paris FC, former head coach Stéphane Gilli has publicly defended his record with the club. Gilli was relieved of his duties in February 2026, with the club sitting in 17th place in Ligue 2, deep in the relegation zone.
In an interview with L'Équipe, Gilli stated his team's style of play and his work would leave a lasting legacy. "We will remain in the history of PFC," he said, referencing the club's run to the Coupe de France semi-finals in the 2022-23 season under his leadership, a historic achievement for the Parisian side.
Gilli's tenure, which began in 2021, saw Paris FC consistently finish in the middle of the Ligue 2 table before the difficult 2025-26 campaign that led to his departure. The club has since appointed a new manager as it fights to avoid relegation.
