On May 27, 2026, the European Union and Morocco announced three new projects to support cultural and creative industries, as part of their ongoing partnership. The initiatives aim to boost the sector's economic and social impact, focusing on training, innovation, and international visibility.
The projects include a program to enhance digital skills for young creatives, a fund for small and medium-sized enterprises in the cultural sector, and a platform to promote Moroccan cultural exports to Europe. These efforts are backed by a β¬10 million budget from the EU, as confirmed by the European Commission delegation in Rabat.
Morocco's Ministry of Culture emphasized that the projects align with the country's national strategy for cultural development, which seeks to create jobs and preserve heritage. The announcement was made during a joint press conference in Rabat, attended by EU Ambassador to Morocco and Moroccan officials.
