Ethiopia's Somali Region has launched a humanitarian aid programme for the Gode area, according to regional media reports. The initiative is intended to support vulnerable households affected by recurrent drought and food insecurity in the region.
The programme will target several districts, including Adadle, Elele, Hargeelle, Elkari, and others within the Gode zone. The regional government is coordinating the distribution of food and essential supplies.
This intervention comes as parts of the Horn of Africa, including eastern Ethiopia, continue to grapple with the severe impacts of climate shocks. Aid efforts are critical for stabilizing communities facing acute needs.
