Candidates for the upcoming Essex County Council elections have been officially nominated. The elections are scheduled for Thursday, 1 May 2025. All 75 seats on the council will be contested.

According to the official statement of persons nominated published by Essex County Council, a total of 299 candidates are standing across the county's 70 electoral divisions. The Conservative Party is fielding candidates in all 75 seats, while the Labour Party is contesting 74 seats. The Liberal Democrats are standing in 59 divisions, the Green Party in 56, and Reform UK in 41. A number of independent candidates and representatives from other parties, including the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC), are also on the ballot.
