Emilia Clarke has revealed that she froze her eggs at the age of 35 following a life-threatening health battle. The 'Game of Thrones' star opened up about her decision to preserve her fertility after suffering two brain aneurysms in her 20s, which required multiple surgeries.
In a 2022 interview with 'The Times', Clarke said she underwent the egg-freezing procedure because she was 'single and wanted to take control of my future.' She noted that the aneurysms had made her more aware of her mortality and fertility timeline.
Clarke first suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage in 2011, shortly after filming the first season of 'Game of Thrones'. She had a second aneurysm in 2013, which required emergency surgery. She has since become an advocate for brain injury survivors.
