Swiss leisure carrier Edelweiss Air has announced plans to increase its direct service between Zurich and Windhoek, Namibia, to three flights per week starting July 15, 2026. The route, which resumes on June 1, 2026, with twice-weekly operations, will see an additional frequency during the peak summer season.
The flights will be operated using the Airbus A350-900 aircraft, according to the airline's schedule update. This expansion reflects growing demand for travel between Switzerland and Namibia, a popular destination for wildlife and scenic tourism.
Edelweiss Air, a subsidiary of Swiss International Air Lines, has been serving the Windhoek route seasonally. The third weekly flight will provide more flexibility for travelers and support tourism in Namibia, which has seen steady visitor numbers from Europe.
Passengers can book tickets through the airline's website or travel agents. The exact flight timings and days of operation have not been fully detailed, but the increase is set to run through the summer schedule.
