Verstappen, who started from pole position, managed the changing conditions expertly to secure his ninth consecutive win of the 2026 season. Lando Norris finished second for McLaren, while Charles Leclerc completed the podium for Ferrari after a late-race battle with Lewis Hamilton.
The race was red-flagged after a heavy crash involving Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon on lap 32, but both drivers walked away unharmed. After the restart, Verstappen controlled the pace, crossing the line 4.2 seconds ahead of Norris.
The result extends Verstappen's championship lead to 112 points over teammate Perez, with seven races remaining in the season.
