Jos Leijdekkers, a 35-year-old Dutch national known as 'Bolle Jos', was arrested in Sierra Leone on July 25, 2026, according to Dutch and Sierra Leonean authorities. He faces extradition to the Netherlands on charges related to cocaine trafficking.
Leijdekkers was convicted in absentia in Belgium in 2024 for importing 11 tonnes of cocaine, receiving a 7-year prison sentence. He also faces a 24-year sentence in the Netherlands for leading a criminal organization and drug trafficking.
His arrest followed a joint operation between Dutch police and Sierra Leonean authorities. He was found in a villa in the capital, Freetown, and is currently in custody awaiting extradition proceedings.
