Swiss hurdler Ditaji Kambundji has spoken about the intense competition in women's 100m hurdles, saying, "The competition is very very high, but I like it." The 24-year-old, who has established herself as one of Europe's top hurdlers, made the comments in a recent interview.
Kambundji, who won bronze at the 2024 European Championships and silver at the 2025 European Indoor Championships, is preparing for the 2026 season. She has a personal best of 12.47 seconds in the 100m hurdles, set in 2024.
The Swiss athlete faces a deep field that includes world record holder and Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico, as well as world champion Danielle Williams of Jamaica. Kambundji acknowledged the challenge but expressed confidence in her own abilities.
"I know I have the speed and the technique to compete with the best," she said. "It's about putting it all together on race day."
Kambundji is expected to compete in the upcoming Diamond League meetings and the European Championships in Birmingham later this summer.
